Some gentle reminders for IDAHOBIT day 🏳️‍🌈

2 minute read

May 17th is IDAHOBIT Day - International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. IDAHOBIT is the anniversary of May 17, 1990 - the day the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. The first IDAHOBIT was held in 2005 - and to date is acknowledged by millions of people around the world. While IDAHOBIT has evolved over these years - the purpose of this day remains the same. To celebrate the progress made, whilst also raising awareness for the discriminations that LGBTQIA+ people still face to this day.

Head to the IDAHOBIT website for some wonderful resources, stories & allyship HERE.

In acknowledgement of IDAHOBIT day, we have popped together some gentle reminders . Because YOU are seen, you are valid, you are LOVED.

You are loved, wholey & completely - for all that you are.

I am allowed to take up space, to have desires, and to have a voice

I deserve love, I deserve peace, I deserve rest.

I will treat myself with kindness - always.

Are you good enough? YES YOU ARE.

I love & accept myself.

I am proud of who I am and embrace my true self.

I will NOT compare myself to strangers online.

My voice deserves to be heard.

Love, Tibbs xxx
